Get it Right the First Time
Prepare, Research, Practice, Measure...etc
There are many steps that can be taken before you begin a new project. Taking the time to get the necessary "preparation steps" completed before you begin can ensure you get your project done Right The First Time. Mind this - when I say "right" I do not mean perfect. There may be tweaks you need to make along the way. But if you make it a point to get things as close to right - or your personal best, you not only will save time and effort of having to repeat something that was done half haphazardly. You will also gain the reputation of working with integrity.
Measure 2 Cut Once
When I am not writing, I spend time working on other pet projects one of which is buying and flipping homes. Many times I can enlist the help of craftsmen to complete repairs needed in these homes but there are other times when I have to hire and supervise a crew to do much of the work. It never takes long when I am working with a new crew to find out who takes the energy needed to get things done right the first time. I can usually tell from a man's first task - whether it's as intricate as building a wall or sweeping sawdust off the floor, the worker who prepares by gathering the right tools for the job or takes the time to measure twice will be the one who consistently gets the task right the first time. The other workers will be the guys I do not hire the next time.
I speak on this in my book; How to Get Your Biscuits Wet: New Principles for Life available on Lulu.com and Amazon.com In the book I share principles and insight on living your best life.

Focus on The Positive: Motivation from How To Get Your Biscuits Wet
"I can look at any subject in a positive way"...
Many of us find it hard to keep a glass is half full attitude when our glass is nearly empty. But I want to share this with you today - Keeping a positive attitude on purpose, will help you to see that glass as overflowing. Scientist and Speech Makers will tell you that what we think about we bring about. You can call it spiritual, karma or hoodo - but whatever you call it remember it's true. Have you ever thought of an old friend and then got a call from them shortly after. It's like there is a secret charge in your brain pulling the things you meditate toward you. Why not use those "magic" thoughts for good. Spend time thinking positively, seeing the glass as full and dreaming of reaching your goals.

It's Time To Reach Your Dreams
We spend so much time thinking of what we want out of life. Contemplating what our lives will look like once we obtain success. I worked on a project a few years back with a group of friends. A few of us were surprised that the most outspoken member of the group did the least amount of work and verbally bragged about how he planned to spend his share of the proceeds. Rather than getting frustrated with the "lack of fairness" in the situation, I took a personal stance to work harder. I knew that another person's lack of participation was their flaw. It was my time to have success and I would not fail myself by not doing my best work and I encouraged others in the group to do the same. Don't let small hurdles block your progress.... learn more life changing principles by reading the new book. "How to Get Your Biscuits Wet" available on LULU.
